IM FREAKING THE FUCK OUT OVER GUNDAM WING TOO EVEN THOUGH I OWN IT.

Seems like they're picking the best/most popular/most memorable, although I'm only saying that after the DBZ ep they picked.
AHHHHH old ending theme!

honestly i care more about the wraparounds with tom than i do the actual programming. it's just so nice to see him on television again.

YEAH! Completely agreed! The rest we could watch on DVD but the new lines, I dunno, even with old bump footage it's just... totally pushes my nostalgia button.
The shows are a great compliment though! I had just about switched mentally to Kai but that ep of DBZ was suuuuuuuuuuuch a nice trip to the past.
Also this Gundam show is boring and lame.

I knew someone who cried at the end of this episode of Gundam Wing. Good pick. Also OUTLAW STAR! The ending theme is what got me into Japanese music.

Fuck this is shit Tenchi. Also known as the only Tenchi Funimation has the rights too

Yeah.

Kinda a shame, but I never got into Tenchi anyways. Could never figure out what it was about.
I still hum the ending theme to this day. Very uplifting. And I loved that rabbit thing.

Damn. I missed it. I remember my sisters would watch Gundam Wing all the time. I also watched Outlaw Star and .hack//SIGN on it. This brings back memories.

I remember struggling to stay up until like 1am every Saturday to watch SIGN. I loved, LOVED that show. Sometimes I would fall asleep and I got so mad with myself, especially since in the last half you needed to watch every ep to know what was going on.
I should give it a rewatch one of these days. I remember the music being godlike.

ha this is great. Staying up and watching it even though I never really watched most of these shows. Mostly just used to watch DBZ and Sailor Moon with my sister.

Yeah, of these shows I was only ever really hardcore into DBZ. Didn't care for Gundam Wing (felt like it was above my age group at the time), I never understood Tenchi, always wanted to check out Outlaw Star but didn't get the chance, and didn't really watch Big O until Adult Swim.
I do remember being into Yu Yu Hakasho more than the non-DBZ shows, though. Maybe because I caught it way before it was on Toonami, when I stayed up late one night. It was on at like 3 or 4, and this was before AS too.
Never even heard of Blue Sub though.

The only shows I ever cared for on this lineup are Dragonball Z and Yu Yu Hakasho. I never got into Gundam Wing, Tenchi Muyo was really weird at the time, and I've never even heard of Outlaw Star.
I'm watching Dragonball Z right now. The intro guitar riff where it shows the episode title brought back so much nostalgia from being a kid. I forgot how good the music is in Dragonball Z. The nostalgia was exactly what I needed right now. I'm really excited for Yu Yu Hakasho later as well because I thought that was a great show.
I wish they would have had Rurouni Kenshin and G Gundam on here too. Those were the other two shows I was really into. Even Zoids would be cool to see again since I loved that show as well.

If Toonami is so popular why don't Adult Swim do this all the time?

Licensing. These shows were probably a one time deal just for last night. Getting full syndication rights would be much more expensive. Also paying Steve Blum forTOM lines. Would love to see it happen though.

Probably would cost a ton these shows are mostly considered classic anime so they'd probably cost a fortune to license. Another thing is last I remember most of the anime they had shown was licensed by funimation who now have their own channel and stream stuff online.

Yeah, I remember Moltar. And remember back when Adult Swim had all those clips of old people swimming in-between shows and commercials?

Yup, back when Home Movies was pretty much the only worthwhile thing on it. Oh and FLCL too I think.
